ANIMAL CHIROPRACTIC

WHAT IS ANIMAL CHIROPRACTIC?

Animal Chiropractic is a very unique and specialized technique provided only by licensed Chiropractors and Veterinarians, who have received specialized training and certification. An adjustment is delivered gently, either manually or with an instrument, to correct segmental dysfunctions that may be contributing to your animal's discomfort.

DO ANIMALS NEED ADJUSTMENTS?

Animals have a spine and nervous system that functions similarly to humans. Therefore they are just as susceptible to everyday stressors, which can lead to aches and pains, abnormal behavior and gait pattern issues. Adjustments can help to alleviate these symptoms.

HOW CAN I TELL IF AN ADJUSTMENT MIGHT HELP MY ANIMAL?

  • Unwilling to turn head and neck in a certain direction

  • Difficulty chewing

  • Change in attitude/behavior

  • Bucking, rearing, or refusals when under saddle

  • Not performing at his/her top level

  • Trips/stumbles frequently

  • Head-tossing, Bit-chewing, Refusal to train

  • Reluctance to saddle, bridle or accept bit

  • Refusal to lift feet

  • Favors one lead

  • Won’t come up from turn-out

  • Recent falls/injuries

  • Recently had teeth floated

  • Won’t allow ears to be touched

  • Uneven shoe wear

  • Flinching when touched along spine

  • Problems getting up and down

WHY CHOOSE AN AVCA CERTIFIED PROVIDER?

The AVCA program is for the elite where only Doctors of Chiropractic and Doctors of Veterinary Medicine can attend. AVCA-certified doctors not only know how to adjust, they also know WHAT to adjust, WHEN to adjust it, and perhaps most importantly know WHEN NOT to adjust.  An AVCA certified provider understands the importance of working with your vet to provide appropriate care in all situations. They have spent over 200 hours studying anatomy, physiology, and pathology of animals. In addition, to maintain accreditation, AVCA doctors must ensure they meet the required continuing education requirements to stay certified; this guarantees your provider stays current with the latest in chiropractic education and techniques. Dr. Katie is certified in animal chiropractic by the Animal Chiropractic Certification Commission (ACCC) of the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA). Please contact Dr. Katie to discuss any animal related services.
